Expression of Creativity
Diverse themes , vibrant colors, and simple yet
calculated compositions define artworks of the PYP students
as enthusiastic learners . With the ability to portray a wide range of subject
matter, from expressionistic portraits to Zentangle, optical illusion( OP art)
water colour works and many more , their works reflect their creative
thinking process. What makes the art works so unique is the students' confidence in showing individual expression. The main
objective of this exhibition is showcasing the expression of
creativity.
Students were very confident
in talking about their art, as all the artworks are done during the process of
inquiry in their art lessons. Few of the art works were the part of their
integration with the POI units. Throughout the year they have experienced
learning various techniques like pencil shading, soft pastel smudging, water
wash technique, brush handling etc. while working with diverse themes. They even
have learnt about various art styles and artists like OP art, POP art, Andy
Goldsworthy, Jean Dubuffet, Wayne Thiebaud, Georgia O’Keeffe and many more. Parents
were also given experience of making art along with their child by arranging
various creative stations for them. Overall it was a spectacular art exhibition
by budding artists of j unior school
.
